Fraction Gold/ Strips
Skills and Objectives:
Students are practicing identifying parts of a whole by combining different parts. Directions: Students choose a set of Gold that they will split equally between each other. So, both students have to have the same amount of gold at the end. Differentiation:
Beginner- Create a set that is easiest for your beginner students and allow them to write fractions on laminated gold piece Intermediate- Create a more challenging set with smaller pieces |

Materials:
Formative Assessments: Students are splitting the gold set among each other so that both students have the same amount of gold. They are mixing and trying different combinations of fractions. They are lying the different parts side by side to determine that they are equally split. Summative Assessment: Students have equal amounts of "Gold" |
